He probably turned to ChatGPT because he wasn’t comfortable with telling his parents.Not as easy as you are making it out to be for men especially to reach out to people. It has nothing to do with “AI distorting reality”. It told him 40 times to call a crisis hotline the poor young man clearly decided to do what he did on his own. The parents may not be looking for a “pay day” but they are certainly shifting blame.
