The real issue is that if people get their way and "kill AI" in America, it'll just move to China or Russia and it won't care what US law thinks of it ever again.
Some of the best it2v AI tools are exclusively Chinese made because it gets around a lot of very, inconvenient laws that only actually benefit large companies in the US as it is.
But hey, the people that hate AI will cheer for a company locking down their IP "rights" for another 250 years keeping us from ever being allowed to enjoy anything we grew up with.
tldr; if you hate AI, and you think it's bad. Just wait till you get what you want and there isn't AI in America. It'll just go where the laws that keep even remotely regulated don't matter anymore.
