Immortality is only relevant insofar as those who are not immortal die first. When you die, your consciousness and soul depart. You are not aware of the world behind you, and you don’t care. So, as long as the machinery and software outlive every human, their immortality can be for five additional seconds or five million years. It makes no difference as there will not be a human conscious and aware of its presence, and without consciousness who cares?
