@Mary-J-OK Of course energy generation is a problem in many parts of the world. Who said it isn't? Similarly, many countries DO have very clean electricity generation (Sweden for instance, as well as France).
My point is that, the main obstacles is not technological, they're political. There are plenty of technological solutions to solve the current problems. For instance, quite a lot of researchers consider next generation nuclear power to be a very clean substitute for fossil fuel based power.
At the same time, AI comes with many benefits. Instead of staring blindly on the energy consumption of AI, it's better to discuss how AI can be used to improve and optimize the faulty energy production worldwide.
