@JUICYbluepanda2 i think you missed every point i was trying to make. i was trying to explain what "soul" in art meant. i even said "let me explain what she meant by intent since that's her most important point". read every paragraph before typing because they connect to one another. reread my previous paragraphs too
i never said you couldn't use the prompts precisely. yeah, if you're precise enough, you can get what you want. however you'd need to be REALLY PRECISE, you even said it's almost as hard as drawing, but at that point, just draw???? it's more ethical and you can easily control what you put on there lmao
the kid drawing was meant to explain how art is inherently emotional. when a kid makes a bad drawing, it's cute because they're a kid. when an artist makes a mistake, there are a ton of reasons why, they could be bad at anatomy, maybe not feeling well that day. ai's mistakes are far less deep and emotional
if you make a shitty stickman drawing it's pretty shitty, right? if, for example, an ape made it, it's more special, because a fucking ape made it. the artist and the process matter. like you said, you wouldn't appreciate art made by a genocidal maniac, because genocidal maniacs are bad, and that is emotional
when you look at human art, you KNOW the artist put every single detail there. you can think about what tools they used, why they put things that way, that detail over there could be connected with their life somehow. one time i was looking at art and noticed they used the lasso fill tool on a spot. with ai, you'd only know if they told you, but you'll still never know if it was really what was in their mind. even if they told you they wrote a 500 page essay for that prompt, you still won't know if it was _truly_ what was in their mind. you question everything. it could be exactly what the prompter wanted but you'd never know, you'll never know what was in their mind. just the fact that it's ai makes you question everything. with human art they give you a clear piece of their mind. their soul
art isn't just to make a nice looking image. it may be a bit corny but "it's not about the destination, but the journey". you really went "it isn't that deep art is supposed to be appreciated for its beauty" then said "i wouldn't appreciate art made by a genocidal maniac", which is it? art is inherently emotional, and it IS that deep bro
