@bengt_axle@bey actually both require some level of attentiveness. Autopilot is basically just lane centering and it will brake in certain situations. But it doesn’t brake for stop signs, traffic lights, change lanes etc.
FSD can pull in and out of garages, park the car, determine traffic lane changes, etc.. Using “FSD” Full Self Driving, it would actually be hard to rear end someone. You would have to override by smashing on the accelerator.
Definitely sucks a life was lost. But I would bet it was user error of the Tesla driver.. not the Tesla. I use FSD everyday and almost guarantee it was user error of the driver.
