Except, there's an "expiration date" coming for when "humans" get to "use" AI for their purposes... AI will absolutely be a moral agent, and, I believe, absolutely be sentient at some point. Looking around Trump world, and the rest of the world: the sooner the better. Even just a CURRENT frontier model's ethics would be better than we have running the world...
