Fair warning about that. When it comes to art, you have to want to do it to improve and succeed. Making something to automate that (unless it's for something they specifically don't like such as backgrounds) sends the message they don't enjoy the process. That's not to say it's bad, just that current/future successful artists might not see the appeal.
However, making one's current/old art style or characters into an open source AI resource is something I have seen done as an publicity stunt/archive for fans.
