But here‘s where your argument stops working: generative AI is stolen. It is stolen because the massive amounts of data needed to train a generative AI model can not be sourced exclusively from consenting digital, traditional or photography artists. Therefore, the AI is trained on stolen data. And since the way that AI works it that it takes the input, the contribution from the user, and generates an image that combines high-probability-features from the training data and smushes it together into the generated piece. By design, AI is not capable of being unique and independent from the human art that was scraped for training. While you may very well be able to realize exactly what you want, that would still only be you giving the command for the AI to use other people’s intellectual property to piece together into „your“ piece. In conclusion: AI „art“ is inherently stolen and unethically sourced and no amount of original and creative prompting will make the products original
