But you will certainly be able to get the same amount of work done with fewer engineers. This has been a pretty common theme throughout history as we've invented machines to improve productivity and efficiency. The big problem is the massive population we have today...their primary concern needs to be automating food production and making sure it is possible to feed people who will be unemployed. Many of us who are relatively intelligent will find other ways to earn income, but those who were not so fortunate to be born with smarts will certainly result to violence when desperate.
