They are already laying off workers they don't really care about anything else than maximising their profits they have 0 incentive to push for UBI they have calculated that they won't need consumers eventually.
Even Altman said publicly hat UBI is not the solution and that you can try to use AI to start your own business, he didn't say what would happen if you can't do that though.
