It doesn't have to be, check out Tom Waits v Frito-Lay. The problem is AI generation is specifically a tool designed to imitate and replace the product of creators. Even if it was an artist copying the art style it could be deemed too similar and confusing to the consumer. You are not going to see any artist house doing any more than references or homages for this reason, as well as professional pride. The fact that the prompt is going to include "Ghibli style" will be proof it is a market replacement.
