Yeah I saw a similar problem using ChatGPT to study sociology. Some of the sociologists we had to study were very very old, or very unknown with only a few studies released, so I’d use ChatGPT instead of scouring the internet. Sometimes ChatGPT would just make stuff up. A few times, it’d go like this:
“What did X say about Marxism?”
“He said Y and Z, here’s a famous study he did”
“Explain the study in more detail”
“Sure! It was made by a completely different sociologist than who you asked about. We just lied the first time lol”
Most of the time it was right, but sometimes it would come out with bs like that
