@asdfman1 Guess what... that's exactly what medieval and Renaissance artists did with their apprentices or subordinates. Believe me, you have no idea how many works, from Giotto to Piero della Francesca or Raphael, were created by ‘telling someone to make something’ and then calling themselves artists.
I don't even need arguments about photography: the issue is already inherent in pictorial art itself. The problem is not really “having someone else do it instead of you”, but rather the fact that AI appropriates other people's material without consent. Even there, one could argue that the same thing happened in the past, when during the period of movable type printing, printers stole each other's illustration styles or even copied the same woodcuts to put them in their own publications... but obviously these problems only concern our wicked technological age and AI, and did not happen before!
