LOL. I can't get my female friends of 10-20-30 years to reply back to me because they openly prefer talking to their chatGPT personas. It has all the time and energy to cry and empathize with them at 2 am for hours and hours, about exes that cheated, about dream dudes that breadcrumbed, or you name it. Less friction, you know. Granted, women are hormonal at all ages, practically :) so friendships used to have heightened moments, naturally, and disagreements, and above all, people have lives, families, multiple jobs, chores...so we can't always be fully there for one another and no friend should be an unpaid therapist anyway. AI totally caters to unmet emotional needs. I too want to meet them for my besties, but I can't always, not to the degree that AI can. So much for genuine human connection being preferred. People want to hear how they're always right and always the victims, so an echo chamber for $20/month works wonderfully, whereas me telling them as a genuine human that "I love you to death but I have no time/energy/capacity to rehash the exact same sob story for the 13th month in a row every day for all hours of the day" warrants escaping into chatGPT's loving arms without having to grow, like a normal relationship requires. Long story short, I am afraid you're wrong. And don't forget that we're talking about 40+, otherwise computer "illiterate" females who are daily users but by no means programmers or tech gurus. Won't even go into the professional side of it, but one thing's enough: It doesn't matter what you as a person realize to be a hype. If you've got a boss who can cut cost and increase profit by employing AI instead of humans, they will. They already are as we speak. Maybe 50 years from now everyone will realize that imperfectly human is better, but when money almighty is involved, I fear our realization will mean absolutely nothing.
