Indeed — but why didn’t the researchers train it to not do that? Because insufficient testing was done. Which comes back to a blind spot re race in humans. These algorithms are amazingly good at fitting to the curves we ask them to fit, so these problems aren’t inherent to the technology. It’s with the scope of the problem researchers are asking it to solve.
