​@shirragamedevHoly moly I had a big ol reply typed up, and accidently got rid of it. Basically boiled down to: honestly. If I could flip a switch, I'd get rid of AI. The convenience of having it doesn't feel like it's worth the setback we're receiving as a whole. And I'm including advancements in science, AI can go crazy with recognizing patterns in medical scans and all sorts of other stuff. I don't know if there's any way we could have made AI without it going this path unfortunately. I believe we're weaving our own destruction, and smiling all the way. And that's coming from someone who's currently paying for access to chatgpt premium. Regarding the "this automation is different then that automation" thing, I legitimately think things will even out, and I don't mean we'll have our AI techs that need to wrench on our AI robots or some bs, I think AI is going to cost more than we bargained for, and businesses are going to need to decide between using people and using automation, and not just because of money. It really sucks though. I think what I'm concerned about: would I choose the AI worker. in my head, if the ai is simply producing better work, then yes every time. if a restaurant opened that did ai designed robot assembled food, and the food was fairly priced and tasted 10/10, I think I'd eat there no problem multiple times weekly. If an Ai company can make you a house that perfectly fits your exact specifications. And it doesn't skimp at all (everything's perfectly up to code and perfectly thought out), then why would I take my chances on a non AI designed house and risk the plumbing, or HVAC or this or that being poorly installed? Yeah yeah, I know, because the human built house has personality and was built for humans by humans. And the food being good isn't the only reason you go out to eat. But I fear I'd still choose it out of convenience. Here's to hoping we make the right decisions in the future.
