That's exactly why programmers need to adopt AI guided development to improve their productivity and help them stand out or at least keep up with this new wave. Employers may be able to hire less people thanks to AI but the tech is still quite far from being able to completely replace programmers. If it can make them 20-50% more productive, then yeah maybe you can hire less.
