But your argument is flawed. The comparison between film and digital photography isn't a very good one because the only change was how you achieved the final product. You still had to take the photo, it took skill to do so, and you couldn't directly steal from someone else (at least not in the same way A.I art is.)
The correct comparison would be if someone had made a way to collect all the photos you had to put in that red liquid, and then used those to make their own, with no effort, without your permission, and without credit. That is what is happening to artists right now. It's far different from a technological jump, it's just stealing with zero effort required.
When people do an art study of another artist, you can still see the human element in the end. Also, I don't want to use a tool that has stolen from other people.
