If science can replicate the systems that govern human sensors, perceptions, biochemical reactions, and then establish a computational algorithm that interprets data and reacts to it based on logic and reason - would your belief change?
And what if we could analyze every step of processing an AI system performs, and relate that to a human’s process/system involved with critical thinking?
If the processing standard could be considered equivalent (of course the hardware would be mechanical instead of biological), would you consider this an alternative version of consciousness?
Forgive me - I have no friends who are interested in these topics, so I’m limited in who I can brainstorm with on the topic. :)
