#3 is addressed directly in their book, but to summarize very briefly: AI has access to humans and money — this is already true right now. And even now, "dumb" current-gen LLMs are inducing psychosis and all kinds of psychological problems. A superintelligent AI would be able to manipulate people, or at least some subset of people, easily. (It would also have access to tons of devices and this is also covered in the book but it's sort of irrelevant, all it needs is access to some humans)
