I’m a dairy farmer. Went from 54 cows with 2 employees to 240 cows to basically just me now.
Robots milk, AI watches cow health, auto-feeders and manure scrapers run 24/7. My labor cost per hundredweight is down ~60% and the cows are happier.
If UBI hits tomorrow and half the country quits, my farm keeps rolling. Robots don’t care about government checks never complain, and are always there unlike paid help.
Every time tech replaced hard labor (tractors, combines, now robots), people screamed “end of the world.” Didn’t happen. We just got richer and moved on to better work.
UBI won’t turn us into the Soviet Union. It’ll just mean my future kids don’t have to shovel shit for 12 hours a day like Grandpa did. They’ll build the next robots instead.
The future’s already here on my farm and other progressives businesses, and it’s working just fine. Adapt or get left behind.
