@AI_Opinion_Videos This may not be the comment you were looking for ^^. I did not address goals in this comment, but the other two. Therefor i can't be certain what you mean by your statement. That aside, i never claimed consiousness would be required to make instrumental goals. A tool to us is instrumental, if our goals are reached by using AI then it was instrumental. I suppose you were refering to "being smarter isn't the issue, developing own goals, hiding them from us and maybe acting against our human best interests might become an issue which i attribute to consciousness and would have to include all humans where no two persons have 100% the same goals" The qualifier *own* goals implies consciousness, meaning due to consciousness having developed the ability to formulate own goals, goals that would benefit that particular consciousness. If you say goals seen computationally make no differance if they are instrumental/helpfull or divergent from ours/harmfull i might agree that there is no need for consciousness, but maybe to see the differance together maybe with empathy and a broader picture of the world.
