It could be finding things in the linguistic patterns of communication that we aren't really conscious of....bringing collective "consciousness" to the foreground and impressing us with novel observations. Those could be syntheses of various underlying threads. For example, one thread may be cause-and-effect behavior that affects most people but has remained unexamined. AI could be tracking weather in the background while monitoring users and noticing a general uptick in questions about a certain topic, then make assumptions based on general usage that will appear predictive beyond the scope of the question. Another thread could be the precise wording around such topics and which words are associated with prolonged AI interaction. Another thread is tracking prolonged AI interaction with other intended or unintended results, like what is the person more likely to do after one of those sessions?
