@BrendanDell AI may indeed simply push society into a new skills era, where prompting, data reasoning, tool orchestration and critical thinking become the new “reading and writing.” So everyone learns to work with AI, just like they learned Excel, email, or how to Google. But the transition to mass college took decades and AI disruption is happening within a few years, and still accelerating. Retraining a generation takes time - time we may not have. In addition, not everyone has the same ability or resources to re-skill up to AI-adapted work. The reality is: many jobs today are still simple, repetitive and don’t require high-level abstract thinking. And AI threatens those first - exactly the kind of jobs that millions rely on. So the top priotirties will be that education systems change fast, that governments support displaced workers and - most important - that employers offer real retraining paths. I’s not just a question of who can adapt - it’s whether society can adapt fast enough to avoid a widening gap between AI “haves” and “have-nots.”
