With a 99 percent unemployment rate, the ruling classes cannot have a huge population lolling around doing nothing but collecting unearned universal basic income. I think there will be an engineered massive global war of apocalyptic proportions which will cull the population to such an extent that there will be just enough left to service the personal whims of the idle rich, while ai and robotics do everything else. Bleak I know but Orwell and aldous Huxley predicted this outcome decades ago.
