@sa34w you only need so many and atm there are plenty senior engineers, corpo thinking is that by the time seniors are squeezed out of everything they got the environment would have changed, and either A.I. would reach their level and they are going to need less programmers overall OR they will just hire juniors at the time when the need them train, and have senior condense 15-20 years of his/her experience into 6 months training or at most 2 years.
Issue is your Software Engineer diploma is only relevant maybe year or so after you graduate you need to wait until Software Engineer retires or when system accumulates enough pressure from managerial elite failing to understand the tech they pay for and think all these wonderful thoughts about and it clashing with reality, like when software engineering is no longer lucrative or stable job there will be less people training or none because why would you go into something complicated for less pay than something far easier for more or equivalent cash?
