Already too late in other words - absolutely. Tasks are allocated to AI every day, the amount of work it can do, the accuracy, efficiency, speed, economy, means it's quite impossible to take that task back. In time goals relating to one task interact with goals from another. We are already on this slippery slope and totally dependent on a technology destined to dominate over us.
