Those are very old quotes. Elon in particular has backed considerably off from that. It's certainly in the realm of possibility that we could see layoffs of particular long haul jobs, and maybe certain intercompany, terminal to terminal shipping. Everything else however, from LTL, food and beverage service, and all manner of final mile delivery cannot be done by an autonomous truck alone, and there is no technological development on the horizon that puts those jobs in jeopardy. That was all very sensationalized talk to begin with. This is more of an evolution of a profession than an elimination of it.
