i was talking with my partner about this, and xie basically said that the problem with trying to make an AI with superhuman technical abilities from a machine that can only imperfectly approximate what it has already read, is that you need to give it superhuman technical work to read in the first place, which none exists, because every technical work is written by humans. it has no "godlike examples" to learn from
