@Dr.Belububub By your argument then, since AI neither understands/thinks, then how can it be a thief? It doesn't understand the concept and therefore can't be responsible. Human artists learn by copying/emulation/reverse engineering, and the material they learn from often includes copyright material from other artists that came before them and tracing/copying line for line is part of the learning, be we don't call them thieves. Nothing to do with tracing. A human artist CAN have the skill/ability to make a very convincing copy of another artist's work/style, especially if they've closely learned from said artist. The point is they've still trained on copyrighted material with no permission from the original artist.
