@dmatekenya1 Waymo has a sample size of 10 million trips, working out to over 100 million miles of driving. That's a plenty big enough sample size. It has far, far fewer fatal accidents per 100,000 miles than human drivers. WIth 100 million miles, that gives a tiny, tiny error threshold, orders of magnitude small enough to say confidently that Waymos are safer than human drivers.
Are they safer than the top 1% of human drivers? Probably not, but your typical human Uber driver is not in that 1%, and you, personally, are probably not either. So on a risk basis if you can afford a professional top-tier chauffeur, you're probably better off not taking the Waymo, but otherwise the Waymo wins.
Yes the Waymo might handle some very weird edge cases worse than a human would, but it handles the vast majority of traffic danger far more safely than a normal human does.
