@ctrl_altesc Were you hiding under a rock when the Ghibli debacle went down? That's exactly what people are doing with these engines to the point that they're melting servers, hence the "expensive and irresponsible toy" comment. The irresponsible part comes from the water waste trying to keep those servers cool enough not to have to be replaced.
You want to talk insecure? Try listening to people who defend generative AI by feeding someone's artwork to a machine to "show it's better" when it's far from the truth. They're all over Twitter if you need a starting point.
