Depending on the car option the driver may have to tap the turn signal for the car to change lanes or if the car also has FSD (Fuil Self Driving capability software) it will change lanes of its own. FSD, by the way is a promise, not a reality. The FSD package promises, through continual software updates to acquire more capabilities over time and ultimately achieve autonomous driving. The FSD beta out on the street right now seems pretty close to it.
