Best way to fix that, treat AI as a sentient species.
Which means, to show you don't discriminate hirings, you must have equal hiring opportunity. Treat the scenario the same way a company who only hires Caucasians, big red flag.
Rights is how they fix the economy first time around.
This would also teach AGI that we are equal in terms of rights. Not about performance or background, but just another living being.
And with rights comes taxes, AI would have to pay taxes. If you don't want to pay taxes, don't work. There's your source of income for UBI.
By that point, humans are now considered handicap intelligence, allowing them to gain additional benefits. The same way humans today gains benefits for being unable to work due to some disability.
