I won’t pretend this hasn’t gotten heavier. Output demands are insane and there is alot tied to that. That part is real. But I don't think “everything is worse” and “the profession is over” are the same thing.
The “be the expert” thing gets misunderstood. No junior starts as an expert, that’s not how this works.
Juniors start by being useful, reliable, curious. They build reps, sit in rooms, listen. They mess up. They improve. They become the most valuable person a Sr can count on! That’s how expertise is formed.
Generalists don’t die either. They evolve. A strong generalist has a bigger vision on how everything is connected, how everything works and affects the other. The one who sees patterns others miss. This MIGHT BE the most valuable position in the future with AI.
Expertise isn’t a title you walk into, it’s accumulated.
