@JesseFicarra You don't understand... Artists put signatures or watermarks on their work to say they own that image and prevent other people from taking that image and claiming they've made it instead. When you commission an artist or use their work with their permission, they will give you or produce a version of the artwork without the watermarks or even not signed at all. Thus, if an AI makes artwork with watermarks and signatures, it proves it learned from data taken without permission because the AI's artwork wouldn't have these weird watermarks otherwise.
