The price of a prototype is irrelevant. Nobody is claiming small businesses will buy one off million dollar robots. We are talking about massive industrial deployment. When a factory orders half a million units, the unit cost of that plumber robot crashes. Zero labor cost makes the investment mandatory for any company that wants to survive.
Same with AI software, the deployment is essentially free after the initial build. You pay once for the code, it then handles the workload of thousands of humans indefinitely. Competitors won't be able to "afford" not to use it. The speed of adoption is dictated by competitive greed, not initial price tags. You’re overthinking the cost and underestimating the speed of technological leverage.
