I wonder why you didn’t wait for the dvd-collection of the AI skeptic videos, but choose the easy route of going to YouTube where you don’t get the fulfilment of watching the curated content of someone who put actual effort into downloading the videos and transfer them to vhs-tapes where they were cut together by hand and then digitalised and put on a dvd. The struggle is part of what makes it valuable. Some things just make sense. Looking up words in a dictionary just means that you are going to a single source when you’re able to easily look at multiple definitions online (or ask multiple AIs). Maybe a word or a definition of a word has changed in the last 30 years, and you won’t get to read that. Perhaps it’s not that you want to find out what a word means, but you know the meaning and need to know the words you can use. AI is great for that. And it is more accessible than needing to own a dictionary. But I won’t disallow you to find meaning in it. In the same way that I won’t disallow people from making art the way we have until this point, but I will continue to buy my clothes from the textile industry even though I have one or two handcrafted pieces of clothing. And I will cherish these handcrafted clothes a lot.
