@hime-j8e because you're trying to fit an emerging, new problem into a dated, early 20th century worldview. calling this just another step of late stage capitalism (which has been in this 'late stage' for quite a while now) is reductive and useless as an analytical framework.
If anything, AI is the death of "late-stage capitalism". It's a democratising force that allows everyone to engage in the market in the most unproductive way, and taking power away from the rich and handing it to the cabal of technofeudal barons who provide those tools. It has more in common with early capitalism than late stage capitalism.
