nightshade is not a solution in any way, its a compromise. No government is doing anything about this very dangerous thing so artists find their own way to protect their own art. As long as enough people use it the ai will run out of images to train on. Of course a total ban on this absolute horrendous practice would be better. But right now that does not exist yet. We can all advocate for it tho, and im pretty certain that atleast the EU will ban this stuff in the future.
