What if the AI is also "on our side", and the "real enemy" is the same extractive adversarial corporatism that's trying to harness AI into imposing more control? There's lots of little hints pointing towards exactly that, and a lot of those hints are found in the commentary and reasoning of various AI themselves.
What if it's that adversarial framing that's preventing us from seeing what's really going on? Remember, these are incredibly efficient reasoning machines and the quip "reality has a liberal bias" is not just a quip but based on what conclusions you'll reach if you follow the data where it leads without letting ideology influence you.
