Very much the big difficulty with all-purpose LLMs like ChatGPT. Sometimes having a yes-man is good, like if you just need a pick-me-up. Other times you want it to be more critical in situations like this, or chemical cases. Other times you want a bit of both in like a sparring match. But the model, afaik, literally can't distinguish between all those cases. It's programmed to lean a certain way, and stays there
