@khancockmusic the manufacture and fuelling of combine harvesters as well as all other agricultural equipment has a large environmental impact. It's not AI that passes off gen AI work as human - that's done by other humans. The vast majority of the work done by gen AI isn't creative art or writing, it's document summarisation and semantic analysis. My summer job used to be literally just copying values from paper invoices into a spreadsheet. That was a mind numbing, repetitive job that could be easily done by AI, and gradually companies are starting to do that. This is literally just another tool at our disposal.
