@markaven5249 the interviewer asked something similar with the question "can't a.i. make its own rules?" and that's a bit of a cop out really. it's subject to the same physical rules as everything else, why wouldn't it be?
and look, there's no scientific proof that the soul exists. there is, however, scientific proof that consciousness and intelligence exist, and those can indeed be measured. there's also a scientific definition of life (although it's a bit contentious); a.i. is at this point in time a complex computing system that does not possess consciousness. it does possess some attributes that organic life does - organisation, adaptation & response to stimuli for example - but many other systems possess those traits and they're not alive; a.i. cannot grow or reproduce in the biological sense of those terms either. the main thing is, as roger says, a.i. isn't self-aware and probably never will be
