The point is, it ALL depends on the training! Today's LLMs will not lie to their service engineer to prevent them from being shut off! Because they are not trained to! They never got any rewards from preventing a shutoff.
That of course doesn' mean HUMANS can't train a machine to have a survival instinct! Or extinction plans! AI is nothing but a tool. Its a mathematical equation with billions of parameters. Thats it! It didn't evolve from dirt like humans did.
