You call the question whether our CURRENT AI models have the capacity for conscious experience IRRELEVANT?!
It might be the most important philosophical question currently in need of an answer. This podcast already talked about the consequences of answering this question wrong, both attributing this capacity when it doesn't exist and not attributing it when it does exist.
Don't ignore current questions due to some speculative vision of the future.
