I think this is the question a lot of people who support AI asked a long time ago. AI assisted art has existed for a long time, longer than fully generative AI art. Across the spiderverse, which started production over 5 years ago, used AI to assist by reducing the busywork involved, and I'd bet a lot of money that almost every major studio uses at least some tools powered by AI to assist them. Obviously, there's a spectrum, with that at the most creative end. But what about people who draw sketches and have AI fill in details? Or people who aren't good at art who use AI to make it look better? And even among people who don't start with something human made, there's a spectrum. There's a huge difference between typing "naked girl big boobs" into a website, and using real cinematography terminology to get the exact pose and angle you want, and using inpainting tools to fix each mistake before finishing. Anyone who says "AI bad" and assumes all uses of the technology boil down to typing one line into a website is going to find themselves in the same place as the people who thought photography and digital media weren't art.
