@AsianDadEnergy I'd say philosophically it may not matter. We've been trying to define consciousness throughout the history of mankind. We've blown through numerous Turing tests and just keep raising the bar. My guess is that we will get to a point where AI, and perhaps AI in humanoid form factors, will be indistinguishable from humans (well, except that they will be super-human) and we will *still* argue that they are "nowhere close to real consciousness" all because we think the probabilistic model training that happened in our squishy neurons is somehow magical compared to the silicon version.
