This was clearly a mistake, but I do support face recognition etc. as useful tools. They have their purpose, we just need to be reminded that no machine learning techniques are 100% accurate, so need to consider that they could have made an error at times.
I'm looking at this from a perspective you might not have considered, a computer science student currently studying computer vision techniques
